About
Swan is the leading European fintech specialized in embedded banking. A laureate of the French government’s selective year list of tech champions, “French Tech Next 120,” we are quickly expanding across Europe.
Over 100 European companies have already seamlessly integrated banking services such as accounts, cards, and payments into their products through our Banking-as-a-Service platform. This approach, known as “embedded finance”, empowers businesses to elevate their offerings and create new revenue streams — often times tripling their revenue!
Our founders’ vision from the beginning was Simplicity: that anyone with a fintech idea at 2 am can visit our website, start building, and buy themselves a coffee with a self-issued card the very next day. That vision has taken us far.
Following a 38M€ Series B round last September, we have been doubling our headcount and already have over 230 Swanees across offices in Paris, Bordeaux, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Milan! If you’re excited about joining a European fintech adventure, Swan is the way!

Job description
Swan is looking for his/her Country Lead Spain. Based in our Barcelona office, this person will be in charge of leading our new business sales motion in Spain but also support some of our retention efforts. Besides Spain, a strategic market for Swan, you’ll be in charge of developing Swan in Portugal.
In the first 1 to 2 years in the role, your success will be defined by your ability to source and close strategic partners. As you help Swan extend in Spain, you should be comfortable evolving towards a role where your focus is increasingly on the existing partners. We expect you to secure long-term relationships with our strategic clients, to help them grow and maximize the full potential of our platform.
Besides your commercial responsibility, you will be the face of the company for the region. You will publicly embody Swan, eg. at events, on LinkedIn or in the press. Along with our Spanish MLRO (Money Laundering and Reporting Officer), you will also be in charge of our relationships with Banco de España, our local regulator.
Lastly, we expect you to collaborate with our Head of Sales Southern Europe based in Barcelona in leading the Barcelona office, today composed of approx. 10 persons. You’ll be the guardian of Swan’s culture in this office!
In summary, this is a hybrid role where you have to act as a thought leader, for your team and region, and where you can’t afford to be completely hands-off. You need to enjoy acting as an individual contributor, eg. actively hunting, being deeply involved in signing new deals, and being the lead sales on our larger deals (and benefiting from the support of the rest of the team).
We’re looking for someone with strong business acumen, excited by the challenges of selling. But we’re also looking for a strategic thinker, able to understand our customers’ needs and perform consultative sales while framing this in a broader context to guarantee the long-term success of Swan in Spain/Iberia.
We need a curious person, willing to learn and comfortable with the technical aspects of our product. We’re also looking for a team player who will partner with our product and compliance teams (among others) to ensure our roadmap entails the main requests of our top prospects and partners in the covered countries, and to constantly improve our onboarding processes.
✨ Main tasks
- Be accountable for new business revenue and new client acquisition in our enterprise segment
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members in the Barcelona office.
- With the support of our sales and growth teams, develop outbound strategies to create and nurture opportunities
- Develop a consultative and solution-based sales approach to answer our customers needs
- Be the internal and external point of contact for our marketing and PR activities in Spain
- Build Swan’s offer to tackle new verticals
- Be the voice and face of Swan for the region (at events and in the press)
- Attend industry events to meet new prospects and spot new opportunities for Swan
- Be in charge of relationships with local regulators to make sure Swan correctly meets its requirements
- Effectively work cross-functionally across the organization to shape Swan’s solutions to meet customer needs
Preferred experience
✨ You’re a great match if:
- 6–7+ years of sales experience, preferably selling a technical product in Fintech or Payments, with previous experience in an international or European environment.
- You are experienced and not afraid to do your own outbound prospecting.
- Passionate about startups and new technology businesses.
- Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts and translate them into industry- or business-relevant terms.
- Proven ability to sell to large accounts: you know how to navigate complex organizations and manage long sales cycles.
- Strong interpersonal skills, an excellent team player, and fun to work with.
- Bilingual in Spanish with professional proficiency in English (Portuguese is a plus).
- Our ideal teammate: Empathetic. Skilled. Frank. We love to challenge each other, and we leave our egos at the door.
It’s okay if you don’t tick all the boxes — don’t let imposter syndrome prevent you from applying! 🙌
Swan is committed to providing a caring work environment for all employees, regardless of age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion, or belief.
When it comes to recruitment, we’re interested in your work experience, skills, and overall personality. Because diversity makes the workplace stronger and is necessary for Swan’s success, we are intensifying efforts to incorporate concrete actions to help us improve in this area.
